Many of the candidates you want are not looking for a job right now. They do not see your job ad, but they see the city they move through every day. That makes outdoor a strong tool for employer branding: you become known as a workplace before they even start looking.
Why outdoor works for recruitment
You reach people where they live and work. Choose sites on the routes your future employees take to and from work, or near places of study if you want to reach students and graduates.
It builds trust. A large ad in the city shows that a company is serious and has plans. That matters when someone is considering a move.
It makes your current employees proud. A campaign in the cityscape gets seen, shared and talked about, inside the company too.
How the message should look
A job ad does not belong on scaffolding. A large format needs one clear message:
- One claim about why people should work for you. Not a list of perks.
- A real image, ideally of your own people.
- Where to find out more: a short web address, or a QR code on a format where people stand still.
Choose the format for the goal
- Scaffolding advertising for a big recruitment drive, for example when you open a new office or need to hire many people at once.
- Facade advertising to stay visible over time, when employer branding is an ongoing effort.
- Digital out-of-home if the message needs to change, for example between different roles.
Measure the effect
Track traffic to your careers page, the number of applications and where applicants heard about you, and compare with a period without the campaign. Ask in the interviews. It often gives the clearest answer.
